DESCRIPTION:Beginner Birder field trip to Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area for individuals who would like to experience birding for the first time or who would like to further their birding observation skills. We will meet at the Visitors Center and introduce attendees to the many species of birds that gather at Middle Creek during this time of the year by exploring the Conservation Trail. The group may also search for Short-eared Owls that often winter at this location at dusk. Visitor Center facilities are only available until 4 p.m.\, porta potties are also available onsite. SUMMARY:Southeast Nature Fest Outreach & Bird Walk in Lancaster City
DESCRIPTION:Lancaster County Bird Club will setup a table at the Southeast Nature Fest showcasing the club’s activities\, bird conservation and the hobby of birding from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Hazel Jackson Middle School. A bird walk to introduce individuals to the hobby of birding will also be held prior to the event from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. along the Conestoga Greenway Trail. The walk will leave promptly at 8 a.m. from the Conestoga Greenway Trail’s South Broad Street Parking Lot located a short walk from school grounds at 407 S Broad St\, Lancaster\, Pa. Bring binoculars if you have them! A limited number of basic loaner binoculars will also be available. The walk will be cancelled in the event of rain.
