Monthly Club Meeting – “Bird Migration in Lancaster and Beyond ”

April 10, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Shelly Eshleman

Club Meeting – Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area Visitor Center, 100 Museum Road, Stevens, PA 17578

Presented by Shelly Eshleman, MS, Willistown Conservation Trust

This program will focus on bird migration research using the Motus Wildlife Tracking System. You will learn about the birds that have been detected by the Middle Creek receiving station and the pathways that those birds have taken. We will also discuss the role that private landowners can play in helping local birds thrive.

Shelly Eshleman is the Motus Avian Research Coordinator at Willistown Conservation Trust and a PhD student at the University of Delaware. Her research follows birds throughout the year to better understand their movement patterns. As someone who grew up in Lancaster County, she is particularly passionate about conserving Pennsylvania’s birds.
