Field Trip to Middle Creek WMA – Waterfowl and More!

Craig Boyhont will lead this late winter field trip to Middle Creek WMA. Meet at 8 a.m. at Stop No. 1 along Kleinfeltersville Road between the museum pond and the main lake. Waterfowl will be the target species on this trip and there should be plenty to see. We will bird into the early afternoon so bring along any snacks/food/drinks and dress for the weather. The group will view the lake from different areas and look at various ponds and wet areas with the possibility of finding 12-20 species here on a single day to go along with the many thousands of Snow Geese staging at this time of year. It is a great time to be at Middle Creek. Some of the target birds include Bald Eagles, Northern Harriers, Ross’s Goose, Greater White-fronted Goose and hopefully some early spring migrants or an early morning American Woodcock.
