Conewago Rec Trail Field Trip
Carl Groff will lead this easy walking field trip west along the trail with a stop at the Hershey Trust Wetlands overlook, and then continue west with views of open fields, woodland, and creeks. The walk will be out and back, probably a distance of 2-3 miles, depending on the wishes of the group. You may turn around at any time to go back to the parking lot. Note: You can no longer park along Rt. 743. From Lancaster take Rt. 283 west to the Elizabethtown Rt. 743 exit. Turn right onto Rt. 743 towards Hershey. Go about 1/4 mile and turn right on Beverly Road. A parking area for the Conewago Trail is on the left side of the road at Old Trolley Line Park. There is a porta-john in the parking lot. Meet Carl at 8 a.m. in the parking lot and bring water and snacks. Contact Carl at (717-471-9969 or fledge19@verizon.net) by 6 p.m. the day before if you have questions or would like to attend.
