With LCBC’s own Bruce Carl

Sunday, October 9, 2016 – Pre-sunrise to late afternoon

Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area

Up the hill on the Conservation Trail overlooking the Visitors Center

Bruce identified over 70 species in each of the last two Big Sits.  With your help as a sponsor, we can do so much more.  Funds raised through sponsorships during The Big Sit! are donated by the LCBC to Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area and will also be used toward the Club’s Youth Scholarship Fund.  Sponsors will be asked to make a pledge amount per species identified or contribute a flat amount to the event.  Interested birders and guests are invited to join Bruce on the hill to assist and visit.

What is “The Big Sit!”?

The Big Sit! is an annual, international, noncompetitive birding event hosted by Bird Watcher’s Digest and founded by the New Haven (Connecticut) Bird Club. Bruce has established an ideal location at Middle Creek WMA offering him excellent views of a variety of habitats from within a 17 square foot diameter circle.

Anyone can stop by and help Bruce spot a bird or two.  With your pledges, the LCBC can help make an ever bigger difference with additional funding of the LCBC Youth Scholarship Fund and an increase in LCBC’s annual contribution to the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area.  Last year’s Big Sit! raised over $600.
